Foster Care Fortnight events

14th – 27th May 2018

All of the events below are advertised on the Fostering Service social media sites and webpage, as well as promoted through the venues themselves on their webpages and social media sites.

Barracudas with ‘Foster Sheffield’s Future’ logos will be on display at each event.  Specific promotional material will be handed out – such as eco water bottles at the park run, pens etc.

Events will be staffed by both Fostering Service staff and existing foster carers wearing tee-shirts with ‘Foster Sheffield’s Future’ logo on the front and ‘talk to me about fostering’ on the back with contact details as well.

Information television in the reception using digital material to promote fostering

 

 

14-25th  May Display stand in Moorfoot reception with information leaflets

Promoting fostering and the information event to be held for staff in Flavours restaurant on 23rd May.  Leaflets will be refreshed on the stand on a daily basis for staff to take as they pass and consider fostering

 

      14th May (12-2) Sheffield Hallam University

To be held in the Diamond Lecture theatre.  A 2 hour drop in for staff to call in and find out more about fostering during their lunch breaks

15th May (12-2) Costa (The Moor)

Lunchtime drop in opportunity for people passing to call in.  We will buy them a coffee and share information about fostering with them.

 

15th May (4.45 – 8) Information Evening

Quaker Meeting House

Presentation and discussion by the fostering team and carers.  Fostering Psychologist, Alexandra Hardy will be in attendance to discuss her role within the service.

 

18th May (12-2) Crystal Peaks shopping centre

Information stall located in the centre of the shopping complex to talk to staff and shoppers about fostering.

19th May Endcliffe Park Run

& Endcliffe Café

Staff wearing fostering tee-shirts are to help Marshall the run and a pop up information stand in/or outside of the café weather permitting.

21st May (12-2) Sheffield University

To be held near the main reception area. A 2 hour drop in for staff to call in and find out more about fostering during their lunch breaks

22nd May (11.30-2) Aviva

Information stall to talk to staff about fostering.

23rd May (12-2) Flavours Restaurant Moorfoot

Information stand for employees based at and visiting Moorfoot in the restaurant across lunchtime

23rd May (12-2) Costa (Hillsborough)

Lunchtime drop in opportunity for people passing to call in.  We will buy them a coffee and share information about fostering with them.

24th May (12-2) Costa (Heeley)

Lunchtime drop in opportunity for people passing to call in.  We will buy them a coffee and share information about fostering with them.
